We welcome you to join the Finnish Midsummer Party!

This spring has been challenging in many ways and we all are missing gatherings and being able to party as a community. Now you have a chance to join our online Finnish Midsummer Party with good company and food!

Our catering partner HUONE will provide you a Finnish Midsummer Festival menu to order so we can eat and feel Midsummer in town together.

The Juhannus set meal menu:

  • Lihapullia - Handmade Finnish meatballs with smoked beef sauce
  • Oven roasted Brussel sprouts with red skin potatoes, carrots and tossed with unsalted butter
  • Uusia perunoita - steam baby potatoes seasoned with salt, crushed black pepper, dill and olive oil
  • Beetroot salad and russet potatoes tossed with heavy cream and vinegar
  • Kaalikaaryle - cabbage roll with beef, marjoram leaves eggs, cooking cream and brushed with honey butter
  • Karjalanpiirakka - made using plain flour, rye flour, unsalted butter, milk, short grain rice and eggs

There is a vegetarian Juhannus set meal available and you can also create your own meal based on the given selection. Additionally, you can order your Midsummer drinks at the same time. The latest food order should be placed on June 16, at 6 pm and for drinks June 17, at 6 pm.

HUONE Juhannus menus are available here.

The program

We have plenty of program planned for you. Our host is Mr Riku Mäkelä from Team Finland and he keeps us up to date what is happening.

We will hear summer greetings from HE Ambassador Antti Vänskä, FBC Chairman Tiina Haikola and SiSu's Chairman Harri Nieminen, followed by the HUONE Chef Eric Mah and CEO Ian Wu to tell about the Finnish Midsummer Festival menu.

Sharp your brain and join a family-friendly Kahoot quiz, the quiz is designed for the whole family including a few questions for children. The prizes for quiz winner teams are provided by HUONE, NordicGlow and Outta Hatha. Check the prizes here.

For children, and of course, for bigger ones as well, there will be a play session including magic and juggling by Rasmus Mäkelä and ending with Moomin story telling by Ambassador Antti Vänskä. Get ready your juggling balls, Lego bricks, mandarins etc. to learn how to juggle.

Finnish pianist Päivi Aalto provides us with recorded summery music experience from Finland.

Live from Finland, Finnish Comedian Tommi Tuominen will stretch your laughter nerves.

Last but not the least there will be a Lucky Draw and the luckiest wins a return ticket from Singapore to Europe sponsored by Finnair. All the registered and attending party-goers will automatically participate at the Lucky Draw.

The detailed program with specific times is found here.

Do you think you would like to provide performance or share your past memorable Midsummers with us? Contact FBC for further information. There is room for anyone who wants to contribute.
